DAILY PRAYERS
Think on These Things:
Much of what we observe is so familiar, that we overlook its significance. We say it’s only a stone, a branch, a crust of bread. Yet, we can find sacred meaning in these things. Consider that the extraordinary attributes of Jesus are compared to ordinary things.
Each day during the trip you can join the mission team to reflect on these things using this prayer guide.
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Psalm 19:1 (NIV)
Consider Daily
(adapted from Rev. James Remer)
Friday, July 11 - Observations
Read John 14:1-10
“Jesus is the Way”
Going to unfamiliar territory invites companionship and direction. Pray that Jesus will have his Way with us whether we stay home or go to Honduras.
Saturday, July 12 - Prayers
Read John 6:25-35
“Jesus, the Bread of Life”
The journey requires not only food for the body but for the soul. Pray that we all may feed on Him the wholesome bread.
Sunday, July 13 - Reflections
Read John 1:7-9
“Jesus, Light of the World”
True enlightenment comes from our Creator. Pray for Jesus to light up the way.
Monday, July 14 - Petitions
Read 1Peter 2:6-10
“Jesus the Stone”
Horizon is laying foundations of friendship and faith. Pray that Christ will remain the cornerstone for all that we seek and do.
Tuesday, July 15 - Worship
Read John 1:29-34
“Jesus the Lamb”
Jesus’ example calls us to humility and service. Pray that Jesus will show us ways to lay down our lives for others.
Wednesday, July 16 - Appeal
Read John 15:1-11
“Jesus the Vine”
Beautiful friendships are forming with the Hondurans. Pray that we may stay connected to and through the Divine Vine.
Thursday, July 17 - Thoughts
Read John 10:1-10
“Jesus the Door/Gate”
Coming or going, we pass by Jesus who guides and guards. Pray for open doors to share Jesus’ love in practical ways.
Friday, July 18 - Supplication
Read John 4:7-14
“Jesus, Water of Life”
Present and eternal revival comes from God. Pray that North and Central Americans will be refreshed by the Living Water.
Saturday, July 19 - Review
